Dear John:

Besides what Ernie has mentioned, there are some Petroglyths (sp?) in the caverns located above Troncones. It can be a hot steep climb, but well worth it! You would need to pick up a guide in Troncones, so I suggest getting to "The Tropic of Cancer" restaurant in the Morning having some breakfast and ask the staff about finding a guide. It may take a few hours to find some one and they usually like to make the hike sometime between Noon and 2PM as the sun is in the right spot to shine into the hole in the earth. The charge for the guide will be somewhere between $15.00-25.00 per person if it is a gringo that is your guide and a bit less if it is a local Mexican. I prefer the local boys, they may not speak any english, but their warm smiles and genernous nature are priceless. You will need a flashlight, plenty of water, snacks (bring enough for the guide)first aide kit (for bug bites and scrapes)and a camera.
