We stayed at this hotel when it was still the Doubletree for several years. While under the old management, we found the staff, the service and the amenities very much to our liking. There are no refrigerators, per se, in the rooms only stocked mini-bars. We got around this by buying a styrofoam cooler in the shopping center across the street (about $18) and keeping beer and snacks cold by constant replensihment with ice. No safes in the room but they have lock deposit boxes at the front desk. The rooms parallel to the Ocean (numbered xx14 and higher) are larger and nicer than rooms perpendicluar to the Ocean (numbered xx01 thru xx12). Even back then, the sales people by the elevators were presistent. However, we noticed as our tan deepened, they bothered us much less! As long as you are staying in the "Hotel Zone" there is never a reason to go all-inclusive! There is an abundance of good-to great - to very great restaurants within easy walking distance. If you stay further up the coast away from the hotel zone, then all-inclusive "may" make sense because the restaurants are not within walking distance and you'll have to take a taxi back and forth to eat (not that cabs are very expensive - check out fare prices on this site). All in all, we were very happy with this hotel as we picked it year after year for good package deals. I have no idea what it is like now that it has become the Radisson but would imagine the staff is still pretty much in place and the rooms have not changed.
