En respuesta a: Puerto Mia development escrito por Doug Maloney desde (c-69-181-131-98.hsd1.ca.comcast.net) el día domingo, 13 de noviembre, 2005 a las 22:30:59 horas :

We're all pretty much appalled by this disrespectful type of development that belongs in Ixtapa, but ecological laws and development regulations (gee, do we even have any?) have allegedly been "bent" ($$$) in order to allow this development and others that do not belong in Zihuatanejo to be built nonetheless. There are several discussions about this development and others in the archives. Needless to say, Puerto Mio is the single most despised development by a good many of the locals, I would venture to guess the majority, and due to their continuing attempts to privatize sections of the bay as well as beaches and coastline they have earned the local nickname of "Puerto Tuyo", since it certainly isn't mine or ours but instead is the product of some rather unscrupulous and disrespectful greed-driven developers who have "friends" in high places, which is what has allowed their harmful and short-sighted type of development to get this far.

It appears to be a sad future we are carving out for ourselves here, so enjoy the beauty (and what's left of the bay) while it lasts. Our "responsible authorities" (do we have any of those, either?) are apparently purposefully repeating the errors of Acapulco as long as the funny money flows their way.
