Day one trip report. Woke up to 5° in MSP.Unexpectedly ran into old Ixtapa friends (L & M) at airport. Didn’t know they were coming down this year. Flight from MSP was ahead of schedule and one of the smoothest flights ever. Kudos to Champion Air. Cold Coronas waiting for us on the bus to Hotel Krystal. Temp was a perfect 84°@ noon when we landed. Check-in at the Krystal was smooth and even though our room wasn’t cleaned yet they allowed you to place your luggage in the room and access the room safe. Sure beats dragging your carry-on around until your room is ready. With the hotel booked at near 100% capacity it would be nice if they could put out a few more pieces of furniture at the pool. There wasn’t an empty one to be had. The room and pool updates are nice. An actual box spring and mattress instead of the old concrete pedestal. Did the 4 o’clock shuffle to Carlos and Charlies for a margarita or two and then back to the Krystal for a dip in the pool. Went in to Ziha for dinner at Daniels (filet of fish with spinach for both of us). Stopped by Rick’s bar for a quick cervasa before heading back to Ixtapa for the evening. More to come!
