If you are retired US military and are authorized Tricare then you are covered in Mexico. My wife broke her wrist last Feb. I got the bills from the Zihua Hospital Especiales (??) and sent them to a special office at Tricare and they paid up, no problem. She is under 65. If you are over 65 then you fall under Medicare/Tricare for Life. Since Midicare doesn't pay out of U.S., you will default to Tricare for Life; not a problem so I have been told but not experienced it yet.
