A fisherman at Barra de Potosí casts for jurel while the jurel chase baitfish towards the beach.
There is quite a bit of good info about this in the archives, but briefly the best shore fishing I've ever seen locally was at Barra de Potosí when the jureles (Jack Crevalles) were chasing bait fish practically right out of the water up onto the beach, and many fishermen would simply follow the action up and down the beach, toss their handline or cast with their simple but sturdy little rod with a small piece of fresh bait into the middle of the thrashing white water, and almost always immediately catch a jurel. I've seen the same thing done at Playa El Palmar in Ixtapa, too, but all the commotion from the boats and people in the water tend to scare the fish away.
