We just returned from a 9 day stay at Casa Kau Kan. It has only been open for a couple of months which is why there isn't much info about it on the message board. If you like a quiet, tranquil vacation, this is the perfect spot for you. Located steps from the beach, with a lovely pool and jacuzzi, lovely manicured grounds, the most attentive staff you could imagine, well-appointed rooms, awesome sunsets, and the some of the best food in Zihua. We were completely spoiled there in every way. It is fairly important to have a car as the hotel is about 4 miles from Zihua, and a long walk to the main road to catch a bus. However, once you are there it is another world. There is practically noone on the beach (Playa Largo), so this is NOT a place for action seekers. The staff placed beach chairs and an umbrella on the beach for us each day, and we did a lot of reading and swimming. It was hands down the most relaxing and nicest vacation we have ever had. There IS air conditioning which we opted to use rather than windows opened because there are mosquitos at night, however the beds are equipped with mosquito netting, and, along with a little repellant, it is not a problem. I can't say enough about this place, and most particularly the service. The owner, Ricardo, accomodated us in every way possible, and his staff is congenial and extremely attentive. If you have a choice, opt for one of the ocean front rooms....our favorite was the 2nd floor (there is only one of these), the other 2 ocean front rooms being at ground level. This is truly a find!
