OK ... I just returned from Zihua and did stay at the Hotel Imelda. I was arriving in Z after a week of business in DF, I was seeking a downtown located "business class" hotel (not wanting to drag a suitcase full of business suits around as I looked around).

In the past, I've stayed at various hotels in El Centro & La Ropa, but never at the Imelda. It was just what I was looking for: clean, safe, with a/c, and very convenient for the bus to La Ropa. The swimming pool was cleaned each morning and was refreshing if not with much of a setting. (The hotel advertises two pools, but the second pool is more the size of a bird bath). Friendly staff both at the front desk and the maid service people.

The hotel seems to cater to Mexican families ... as far as I could tell, while I was there I was the only gringo in the hotel which was a plus (to me) over many other hotels.
