Ay! The donkeys braying every half hour or so, we found it amusing rather than noisy...all part of the experience...though once a few tequilas were downed in the evening, we didn't know if it was the burros or us braying :-) and during our last visit, we also saw large cerdos (pigs) and caballos (horses) wandering about too! I do not look forward to the day when those coconut groves (plantations?) are replaced by houses, villas or some other development.

The trucks buses and cars do go past, though our most fun was waving at the policia (we assume the tourist police team) as they did their exercise/march down the street and back one morning, chanting to us in both English and Spanish.

Thanks for the fun reminder of some simple pleasures!
