Hey Billy, we stayed at the B-D-M during the first 10 days of January and would have to say that we fully recommend the property. There are two sections, the old and the new. The new was updated approximately two years ago and it is beautiful. Tastefully done tile and plaster work, new fixtures, air conditioning (which is quiet), thermopane slider door and a wonderful view. The grounds are very nice and there is a pool which is kept clean. The staff are nice and accommodating. The room rates are about $85 + tax during the high season for a king size bed or two queens. The old section is basic without significant updating and with the typical problems that you will find in this price category ($65 + tax) in the Madera Beach area (loud ceiling fans, water that doesn't heat up until you're done with your shower, lousy mattresses etc.). We moved from the old section to the new section when the rates went down Jan. 6. If you don't mind paying the extra money or if you go during a shoulder week, go for the new section. It will rival more expensive hotels in the area. The hotel is close to everything, has a attached restaurant, game room (with library) and the already mentioned pool. We will go back again to stay. If you don't mind "non-updated" accommodations and don't care about the pool, go for Bungalows Pacificos in the same area because the patios are bigger and better. Wish I could go back...
