November 4th, headed to Zihua, hour delay in LA :( but got the green light in Zihua. Stayed at Villa Mexicana, hubbie and I got a second floor room, above the cat-lady, not the best view but okay. Our friend ended up on the first floor, back of hotel, but was moved to an ocean front room the next day, didn't have to bribe/pay anyone to get it. Had a wonderful dinner at Paty's, enjoyed the grilled shrimp. Met Paty, nice lady. Spent some time at La Perla's and walked home. Had to go swimming at midnight, it was warm and wonderful.

November 5th, woke up, decided not to shower until after we'd played in the ocean and sunned ourselves. Wore 30 spf for 5 days, then went down to 15, got a great tan and didn't burn. Strolled the beach, had breakfast at Elvira's (great chilaquiles). Got a massage down by La Perla for $17, wonderful. Watched the sunset at the Catalina, the bartender watched a Mexican Jerry Springer on the tv. Had a wonderful dinner at Puesta Del Sol, really nice owners. If you're hungry and want to try alot of different food, get the "Fountain of Youth" plate. Watched them make lots of flambe'd foods. We hope to go back to have the Banana's Flambe and Spanish coffee. Ended up at Rick's cantina, bought some of his tequila which is actually pretty good. They are planning on opening a steak house on the second floor, it's probably already opened now.

November 6th - Ate at Elvira's, best breakfast of the trip, $4 for ham and eggs and chilaquiles and beans, all on one plate! Yogurt and fruit plate good also. Our friend went scuba diving and had a great time, if he goes 3 times, the 4th time is free. They dropped him off in the water in front of the hotel. Went to La Perla, were serenaded by 3 men, "Besa Me" and "Contigo", wonderul romantic songs. Watched some turtles get released around sunset at the Villa Del Sol, very cool. Had dinner at Tamales Y Atoles Any, best chili relleno.

November 7th - woke up and walked the beach again, headed over to Las Gatas. It was a very warm day and not much of a breeze over there, but enjoyed our day. Did some snorkeling and bought the very touristy pina colada's in the pineapple. Lots of parasailer's today. Ate dinner at Il Mare, right by Kau-Kan. wonderful marinara/red sauce. Enjoyed drinking the Sambuca with the owner. Very good calamari and pasta. Went for another midnight swim.

November 8th - Is it really Saturday already? Had my usual walk on the beach, then strawberry yogurt and fresh fruit at Dona Prudencia, the hotel's restaurant. Best yogurt on the trip. Watched a large group of people swim around the bay, looked like a lifeguard certification class. Ate at Kau-Kan, wonderful atmosphere and attention to service. Mahi-mahi carpaccio was excellent, along with the giant shrimp and ahi. Headed into Ixtapa, stopped at Senor Frog's, not many people. Went over to Carlos and Charlies, everyone was having too much fun there, dancing and drinking and conga-line-ing. Another night moonlight swimming.

To be continued...
