Well, maybe that's an idea, but it does not seem like a good one. No, this development is backed by lots of big names in Mexican power circles and politics, and our poor city government has found itself out to be a pretty impotent small fry in the grand scheme of things. We appear NOT to have any real control over our future, at least according to the plans of some of the powers that be. There's probably no stopping it, and without going into detail here, the plan for the entire coast from El Faro in Zihuatanejo to El Riscalillo at Playa Larga is pretty disgusting and disheartening (say good-bye to our beloved Playa Manzanillo because it WILL become essentially a private beach!). But there IS a possibility to set an example and maybe even curtailing some of it by exposing people and things for what they are. What people do clandestinely is one thing, but they often behave differently in the light of public scrutiny, especially during election years! ;~)
