Two things immediately stand out that make this story sound fishy:
1) He personally did not make any such announcement.
2) Cerro de Guamilule is the site mentioned, but it is not in the municipio of Zihuatanejo de Azueta but rather in Petatlán.
Additionally, this subject was never brought up in Alejandro's campaign. His only comments that I recall during the campaign were supportive of the fact that the townspeople, including most if not all of the "founding families", had blocked the cruise ship pier project.
This smells fishy in many ways, and the fact that Interad (with the apparent backing of the ex-mayor of Petatlán and some crooked but well-placed bureaucrats) is allegedly trying to steal land where the supposed pier would go is one of the stronger stenches. Just talking about this can cause land values to increase.
