We had just settled into bed and I was just enjoying Bill Maher on HBO when the lights went out last night. It must have been close to ninety degrees with 100% humidity and zero breeze. THEN the thunderstorms rolled in and we got to listen to their booms and watch the lightning flashes while the rain fell steadily and we lay in our own puddles of sweat. We thought it would at least be a quiet night since the bars had to close early, but every so often lightning would strike nearby, bringing us back from the brink of an already torturous sleep. I think it must've been around 4 or 5 a.m. before sheer exhaustion overcame the suffocating discomfort of the heat and humidity. Power was finally restored around 8:30 this morning, right after some bozo drove by with his boombox car playing "Ghostbusters" at full volume.
WHO YA GONNA CALL?!
