After walking around the beautiful Eduardo Ruiz National Park in Uruapan ~ with its many lovely waterfalls ~ all the while search for “the restaurant that serves fresh trout” ~ we FINALLY came upon Mansion de Cupatitzio ~ A lovely hotel just outside the park. The hotel restaurant serves up the trout that is raised inside the park.
We both had trout (OF COURSE!) ~ Mike had his with hierbas ~ fine herbs, and mine was stuffed with jamon and capers. DELICIOUS! This was one of the very best meals of our trip! We both love fish, and this was superb! If you visit the National Park in Uruapan, definitely try to make an opportunity to eat at Mansion de Cupatitzio. Not only are the meals wonderful, but the grounds of the hotel are BEAUTIFUL ~ well kept, with all manner of flowers and plants.
Here are a few photos of the hotel’s grounds. We didn’t stay here, and probably wouldn’t, as we were SO pleased with Hotel Mi Solar in the historic center of the city. This hotel isn’t within easy walking distance of the Plaza Principal ~ you’d have to take a taxi there. It's also considerably more pricey than Hotel Mi Solar.
Here are some views of the gardens from our outdoor table at the hotel’s restaurant.
Another view of the gardens.
The hotel has a nice outside pool in the garden area.
Everywhere you look, this hotel is filled with beauty.
Over the next couple of days, I hope to post photos of the National Park and various scenes in the central city area.
