Agree The Mendoza is in a excellent locat1on having stayed there numerous times.

The Finest hotel IMO in all of Mexico however is The Quinto Real all suites hotel about 15 minutes from El Centro in a very nice area near some of the finest dining including our favorite The Sacramonte. The hotel has a philosophy of fulfilling it's guest total wants, needs & desires. We had our Luna de Miel there 10 years ago & return to suite #45 whenever we can. A large suite with a in bath spa it is surprisingly reasonable as in December 2007 our last stay it was $202 US plus tax. This includes a in room service breakfast or a dining room one. You may have anything on the menu.
Suite includes a living/dining area, office, sunken bedroom, balcony. wet bar, CD player, TV & a marvoulas bath. Check it out
PS A real bonus at least for most gals it's but a couple of blocks from Guadalajara's all Shoe Store Mall that my wife adores.
