El Manantial is located on the Costa Grande in the state of Guerrero, Mexico fronting the Pacific Ocean near the middle of a beach that stretches for nine and a half miles (sixteen kilometers) and has different names for various stretches of the beach. Playa Blanca is the name for the section where El Manantial is located. Against the backdrop of endless coconut palm groves and the majestic Sierra Madre del Sur mountains, it is a privileged location abundant in unspoiled natural beauty.

El Manantial is only about fifteen minutes by car from the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo International Airport, about twenty-five minutes to Zihuatanejo, and thirty-five to Ixtapa. There are several family-operated enramada-style seafood restaurants located within walking distance along the beach, some with pools. Most are only open during daylight hours.
