As the summer vacation period winds down visitors get in their last beach days and enjoy the sun, the sand and the surf. So far the vacation weather has been mostly cooperative with hardly any days of cloud cover and only a couple of brief rains in our region.

The ejidatarios of Zihuatanejo continue with their protest marches demanding that Fonatur pay them for the over 400 hectares of their Ixtapa lands expropriated back in 1973 for which the ejidatarios have yet to be reimbursed according to the terms agreed to back then. They have the backing of other ejidatarios from Atoyac to La Unión as well as regional citizen and business groups. They will be marching again today at 6:00 p.m. in Ixtapa and everyone is welcome to participate and to show their support.
