My friend no longer is able to notarize documents for U.S. legal purposes, but like me they wondered how this person residing in Mexico is able to notarize documents here without being in the service of the U.S. government. The U.S. Consular Agent in Acapulco is the closest person who is legally allowed to notarize documents.

Curiouser and curiouser.

Nevertheless, there is an online service available for notarizing documents. Save this link in your Favorites links.
