It's looking like there will be no further Covid-19 updates from Guerrero's state health officials.

Monday was a lovely sunny day along the Costa Grande of Guerrero with mild temps, a light breeze and calm seas in Zihuatanejo's bay. A day that reminds me why I love this time of year best. The hills are a deep green and the air is fragrant with new growth.

The amount of garbage on all our beaches from the rains was truly disgusting. Today's photo was definitely photoshopped. So much for Blue Flag certified "clean" beaches. And so much for being a "Pueblo Magico". It's certainly almost "magical" that each and every rain produces so much plastic and garbage that pollutes our beaches, bay and ocean. Mind-boggling that only one municipal government has even attempted to deal with the problem, and that was over 20 years ago when they tried to put a trap in the canal to catch the garbage. It washed away after 2 rains.

A palapa-roofed home in the Contramar section of Ixtapa was struck by lightning Sunday and caught fire. There was no mention of any injuries.

I thank my lucky stars every single day to be here in this incredibly lovely place with the amazing person who is my wife of 33 years and counting. While Zihuatanejo and Mexico certainly have their drawbacks, they seem to pale with almost everyplace else. Every single day I feel like the luckiest Gringo en México.

We have had some serious rains in the last week, but this morning, the beach had more trash than we have seen this season. We didn't paddle for fear of damaging our boards hitting trash.
