Quick Fish Report
Went out Sunday with Ramon Olea and took the entire crew. Lots of boats out, we got out around 7:30. Difficult to get 5 people ready especially since I made everyone watch the 49er game the night before. Very quickly we had a sailfish on, been trying to get my taxi driver friend a sailfish a few times with no luck, unfortunately it came unhooked in about 2 minutes. Not too much later he caught a nice dorado. We got back in around 10:00, for the 2 1/2 hours we fished we brought in 3 dorados and probably a dozen bonitos. We actually just went out for small game with no bait, the entire time we were never more than 15 minutes from the pier. Went to the pool for a while and took some fish to Deborah’s for ceviche, fish fingers and fries. The table was very quiet as the food was so good as always with Deborah’s.
Normally we would have gone to Isla Ixtapa for a swim and lunch but our friends no longer want to go in the ocean due to recent events. Poor Ramon had to buy a new engine for his boat and had a second group wanting to go out that day. I thought it was best to give Ramon a break and call it a day early even though I didn’t have to. Just the guys are going out Tuesday so hopefully we can get my friend a sailfish but we seem to never have any luck unless the girls go with us.

Glad to hear you had a good time fishing with Ramón. He works hard for his clients and has excellent fishing instincts.
A shame your friends are going through Jaws hysteria. The water has been perfect for swimming lately, and thousands of other people enjoy it here daily including my wife.
Thanks for the fishing report! And welcome back!
We're across the street from our old location, in case you're in the area. Look for the new clothing and hat shop, Boutique Sunset.

How do I contact Ramon?

Quick Fish Report
He is listed in Rob's Services Directory.
It is the big white "Z" at the top left of the page.
Click on that and scroll down to "local activities" and click on that. In the next window click on "Sport Fishing and Whale Watching Tours". He is listed within that group.

Why are you trying to get your friend a sailfish? I thought you were suppose to catch and release all billfish.

For better or more likely worse, there are no fish and game regulations enforced in Guerrero that I have seen. When people see an iguana or deer they shoot it. People are not restricted on personal boats as to what fish they keep at least from what I have seen. Commercial boats may be different but I doubt it.
