You're not going to believe it, but here in Zihuatanejo we enjoyed ANOTHER day of absolutely picture-postcard-PERFECT weather! Some waves coming from the north ricocheted around the bay a bit, but they were still small and quite harmless for swimmers at Playa Principal. However, they make for great sleeping sounds. Still no snow in the forecast.

The taxis and combis seem to be operating again. I've not heard of any incidents today, but I also haven't noticed any increased police or military presence as I would normally expect. Yet somehow our "normal" day-to-day lives go on here in this part of la Costa Grande.

Downtown living isn't for everyone, but we love it even though sometimes the crowds and the noise are a problem. Our daily chores can all be done via walking, so no need for a car. For those of us within easy walking distance of the waterfront, a walk along the waterfront is a daily pleasure. This evening watching the moon rise behind the eastern mountains in the distance from the pier was a magical moment that stopped almost everyone in their tracks when they noticed it. A bit of local magic that hasn't changed in the 50 years since I first set foot here.

A place I like to recommend, like an oasis in paradise, is Casa Tucanes. A beautiful vacation lodging located on the edge of La Ropa's coconut grove surrounded by lush gardens, a short walking distance to the beach. They offer three 1- and 2-bedroom villas, two 2-bedroom bungalows and two simple guest rooms. They also have a pool, they are pet friendly and wonderful hosts.

Una vista hermosa a pesar del exceso de cemento que puso el alcalde. El mediodía en la playa frente a la bahía de Zihuatanejo siempre ees impactante y relajante a la misma vez.
