Lluvia con TemblorZIHto
Friday night's wind and rain surprised a lot of people and cost a fisherman his life in Petatlán when his panga capsized. In Agua de Correa some utility poles blew down cutting off electric, phone and cable TV services for some. It also got quite chilly for locals, and I had to turn off our fans and shut the windows. Never did find the blanket I was looking for ('cause it was at the cleaners). But the rain was extremely welcome and made for a refreshing morning that became a mild but quite beautiful day when the sun finally came out.
The 5.0 temblor that was felt in Zihuatanejo early this Saturday evening set off the seismic alarms in Mexico City where it was also felt.
Zihuatanejo enjoyed a visit this morning from Mexico's president Andrés Manuel López Obrador who gave an accounting of how his Bienestar programs are doing in Guerrero. He was warmly and enthusiastically received by locals, many who got to meet him and present their petitions. This is his final year in office, and his shoes are going to be tough to fill, but it looks like Claudia Sheinbaum is going to be elected as the next president, and the first female president of Mexico.
The parade of sailboats today as part of the Sailfest was once again a beautiful spectacle to behold. Lots of folks had unforgettable experiences enjoying the beauty of Zihuatanejo and El Palmar bays as the parade of boats cruised to Ixtapa and back. Big thanks to all the folks working hard to organize and make the SailFest happen as well as to all the folks donating to this noble cause!

Después una lluvia durante la noche y una mañana nublada, salió el sol en la bahía de Zihuatanejo.
