ZIHudadanos Consternados
Unfortunately, downtown Zihuatanejo was once again more akin to a Pueblo Trágico than a Pueblo Mágico this Monday when a young man was shot in broad daylight around 1:30 PM on Nicolás Bravo street in the utter absence of anything remotely resembling a police presence. Lots of police AFTER the incident, but as usual not a one to be found anywhere downtown BEFORE.
Last night on the waterfront by the Cancha Municipal in front of Daniel's Restaurant, one of the brand new lamp posts decided it would fall on a tourist and injure them. So watch out for falling coconuts and lamp posts on the Paseo del Pescador.
The waves have died down locally, and outside Zihuatanejo Bay they're only around a meter high, in the bay much less than that. The water temp remains around 27°C, nipper for locals. Monday's morning temp was around 20°C, and it's looking like Tuesday morning it'll be a little cooler, maybe around 18°C. There's been a light breeze most of the day and evening. Absolutely PERFECT! Visitors are certainly getting their money's worth!
Paradise may have once been lost, but when you arrive at this lodging you'll know you've truly found it. Casa Escondida offers a 2-bedroom home, a 2-bedroom apartment, and two 1-bedroom bungalows all designed in local tropical styles. This incredible property is located on Troncones Beach a short walk from the village. Features a pool, ceiling fans and hammocks on the porches. Rent the entire property or in parts.
