2024 Observations

First count us as very appreciative of this site. We're only here for 17 days......more next year, and this site has so much helpful info. When we're home in NE AZ we read it daily even in the off-season. There are also great references and info on some Facebook chat groups too

As we're nearing the end of our stay, I guess I'm already reflecting. I was so concerned about a "Acapulco Effect" thinking Zihua was going to be completely overrun with additional folks. Seems like it didn't happen.

Every year we seem to meet some new and friendly folks. I have to say, I've never met a Canadian person that wasn't friendly and fun. Same this year. We've probably been here 25 times over the past 30 years and obviously it still makes us happy to visit.

We like the place we stay near playa Madera...would rather not name the spot. We love being close enough to town and yet away from the noise. Being able to walk everywhere is huge.

With the weaker exchange and overall inflation it certainly isn't a steal like it was 4-5 years ago, but try visiting Hawaii, Miami or San Diego at high season and see what a meal and drinks cost.

Some favorites not in order: El Vado, La Tericita, Maderas, Casanovas, Arrebol, Rufos and Bartolos. Such great food here. Cheers!

I understand maybe you want to keep your special place all to yourselves, but wouldn't your host appreciate a plug?
