Election season officially begins this March 1st, so politicians cannot distribute any social assistance with few exceptions until after the election on June 2nd. It's also when the campaigns get under way, so expect lots of propaganda and blaring megaphones from passing cars from now until then. Locally we elect a new mayor, and nationally a new president.

I read somewhere that Manuel Anorve is running again. Can it be 12 years ( or has it been 18 years?) since his supporters last disturbed hundreds, if not thousands of folks by parking their sound truck at Plaza Kioto and blasting their mindless crap 8 or 10 hours a day at ear-splitting volumes? A pox on him, his supporters and his Party.
