Hello, Do you check-in with your flight first before going to the immigration office at Ixtapa airport to sign the book or do you go to the immigration office first then go check-in to your flight

I have checked in with the airline first, then gone to migración.

Just wondering as a 10 year Permanent Resident why you all have to do this. I live in San Juan del Rio, Queretaro and when I leave, I just leave. No trips to the immigration office and will stay gone from anywhere from 3 months to close to a year to work on golf courses here in the USA?? Never had a problem leaving or returning at all and usually get pulled from the single line at immigration once they see my Resident card to get out of the way quicker. Still seeing posts also about the red/green button at the airport?? Hell they got rid of that here almost a year ago, if you have a carry on, they pretty much let you walk out but if bags the National guard is going to xray and go through, but still never any problems with things. Semper ZIH!!!!

Interesting.

I sometimes depart Mexico from Zihuatanejo and sometimes from Terminal 2 in DF. In both places I have to register my departure. In ZIH it is in the little office. In MEX it is at a kiosk.

I go to immigration first. There are no more forms to fill out. They just stamp your passport, so I guess going to ticket counter first would work also.

At the Alaska Airlines counter, I was told that I had to show my stamped passport in order to be able to check in.

My last departure I did it all on Alaska online, went directly to the gate. Loved it

I’m at the airport now.

I checked in with the airline and got my boarding pass.

I went to migración and did my sign out. They gave me the confirmation for the airline.

I had the choice of taking it to the airline counter or giving it to the airline when I was in the seguiré area.

I returned it to the airline counter. I figured that the less time it was in my hands, the less time during which I might lose it. :-D

You are to go to immigration FIRST, then to the counter to get your flight.

Interesting. I tried to do that once and migración told me to go to the airline first, so I have done it that way ever since and no one has ever told me otherwise.

In DF one must check in with the airline before going to migración. At MEX, the migración kiosk is inside the secure area. To get into the secure area one must have their boarding pass and have already left any checked baggage with the airline.

Clearly at MEX it would not even be possible to go migración before going to the airline’s counter.

In Zihua, the migration and immigration seem to do a few things differently from Mex City
