While the US government are the whores of the fossil fuel industry and big pharma we haven't murdered over 300 journalists in the past ten years or been entangled to the highest levels with the drug cartels such as contemporary Mexico.

The deaths of reporters of independent media is unconscionable.

When the interests that support the fossil fuel industries and big pharma own the corporate capitalist media, and some would argue effectively control much of government, it would be counterproductive for them to kill journalists.
