I use a welder's glass #14 and a pair of dark Raybans. They've worked great for me for over 3 decades.

The internet says that you can use a colander.

Hold that colander out far enough so the burn spots on your retina leave you partial vision. Article today in G&M said that the states of Texas and Misouri DOT have advised to not drive with the eclipse glasses on.
ISO 12312.2 glasses but beware of fakes, #12 welding glasses or better. Failing getting protection you can always do the pin hole in the piece of paper and focus the image on another piece of paper. Not quite the same but safer for all. Actually I am surprised that even here in Ottawa this has not been promoted to protect our childrens eyes.
