poema de marionetas
During COVID I took up poetry as a hobby. I have locally purchased marionettes hanging from my balcony rafters. I wrote Shakespearean Sonnets about them. I used a Pinocchio theme: what would the puppets want to be if granted their wish. I also used Mexico as inspiration. All in iambic pentameter, taking a few liberties with the turn/volta. Here is Sonnet #2
Hombre in sombrero with a guitar
Verde sash for dash of independence
He is dressed negro, the colour of war
Troubadour no more, only remembrance
My late brother Russell played the guitar
I pull the strings, in my head he dances
Door to reconciliation slightly ajar
The ego is fragile, why take chances
Be on time
Be in tune
Be arrogant
And you will be a real guitar player
Russell died broke without what he wanted
Proof once again all houses are haunted
poema de marionetas
What talent! Thanks for sharing.
