I'm not sure when the cruise line for "Europa 2" added Zihuatanejo to their itinerary, but when I checked less than a month ago it wasn't scheduled to visit us. Perhaps due to the damage caused by Hurricane Otis to Acapulco they decided to visit us instead during their repositioning transit along our coast on their way to the Atlantic Ocean via the Canal de Panamá. From what I understand, the passengers were German, and from what I saw they appeared to be enjoying themselves strolling about taking pictures, but because the city had closed the street in front of our boutique for the tour buses, it apparently kept the tourists from passing that way.
According to the Secretaría de Marina, the bay water temperature reached 25.4°C today. While Sunday night we enjoyed pleasant sleeping weather, it isn't getting quite as cool overnight as it recently had been. Daytime temps remain mild but are expected to reach around 33°C this week. It feels great out this Monday evening, and it's predicted to get down to 19°C tonight, which will feel great! But the rest of the week the lows aren't expected to be below 21°C. Any day now, a southerly puff of breeze will bring warm humid air and change everything, so we're appreciating these pleasant days while they last.
There were still some waves from the mar de fondo event this Monday, but it seems to have calmed down from what it was. Some sea foam blew in from the open ocean, but it appears to have headed for La Ropa and La Madera and missed Playa Principal. It didn't look like it was enough to bother anyone. No sign of any marea roja.
Quite a few visitors were enjoying themselves on the downtown beach this afternoon and evening. Good to see!
A purrfectly peaceful vacation lodging, Casa Kitty features 2 two-story structures. One is a one-bedroom house with a kitchen, and the other has a ground-floor bungalow and an upstairs cabaña that shares a kitchen with the bungalow. All located amid exuberant tropical gardens across the street from Troncones Beach within easy walking distance of the small village with its stores and restaurants.

Zihuatanejo recibió una visita inesperada hoy del buque crucero "Europa 2" cuyos pasajeros alemanes parecen haberse divertido mucho. Ojalá que vuelvan algunos para una estancia más larga.

When we hit the beach at 5:50 this morning, we were surprised to see the illuminated cruise ship arriving in the bay! Pretty!
When we paddled, we saw no sign of the red tide at all, and it seemed warmer. I swam, but he still says it's too cold!
Would you please, if you can, post the official temps from the end of the pier for us?
Thanks for all you two do for all of us.
