Today was a tad warmer and smokier than yesterday. A few high clouds appeared in the morning, but the sky itself is getting whiter each day with increased amounts of smoke in the air. It wasn't unbearably hot by any means, but folks from the north and some inland cities might've felt a bit uncomfortable. No cool breezes, but at least we're still enjoying some breezes. Even the breezes are likely to stop soon until the rains start.

The waves and wind are predicted to increase this Friday with winds coming from the northwest and later the southwest, hopefully clearing away the smoke, but the winds keep dying down also, and that will make it feel even hotter, especially when they start blowing in from the southwest. If they blow up from the southeast along the coast from Acapulco and Atoyác then we can expect smoke.

For some of our newer residents, now's a good time to try to get acclimated if you live here, otherwise the summer months will only get more and more uncomfortable for you, and you'll spend a fortune on A/C.

Next Monday Dra. Claudia Sheinbaum, the Morena party's candidate for Mexico's presidency, will be here in Zihuatanejo to support Morena's candidate for our next mayor, Leovigilda Chávez. Our electoral season is just warming up, but it's all over by June, and we vote on June 2.

This Friday evening come enjoy danzón in Plaza del Artista at sunset. Always a fun time, and a part of authentic Zihuatanejo culture with roots in our past. You may even want to join in, who knows?
