Any day you have a mango licuado for breakfast, you're off to a great start!
And if you happen to be in Zihuatanejo, it only gets better from there!

Not a day goes by that I don't give thanks to be exactly where I am and have been for the past 35 years. And especially to be sharing my life with such a truly special person as I found here walking Playa La Ropa 50 years ago. For all this and so much more I consider myself (and Google agrees) to be the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.
Huge wing-ding this evening at the Muelle Municipal for the participants in the XXXIX Torneo Internacional de la Pesca de Pez Vela. Dinner. Music. Dancing. LOTS of people there! Gonna be an interesting weekend. While I refuse to promote a kill tournament, it's still going to be a lot of fun, and it remains a part of our local culture. I just hope someone from here that I know wins.
Today's weather defied all forecasts. It was breezy much of the day. The mar de fondo ended and the ocean is extremely calm this evening, hopefully remaining this way during this weekend's fishing tournament.
One of the nicest things about the slow season in Zihuatanejo is being able to see and spend more time with our local friends, especially folks we barely see during the high season because we're all working so much. It makes our evening strolls even that much more enjoyable.
Tucked away between delicious beachfront restaurants and the village of Barra de Potosí is Hacienda La Rusa. A fabulous affordable lodging in a Mexican colonial-style bed & breakfast home with 2 swimming pools. Rent individual suites or rent the entire hacienda.
