Another mar de fondo event is predicted for our coast beginning next Monday and lasting throughout the week. Fortunately, the fishermen in the ongoing tournament are enjoying ideal ocean conditions.

Saturday was ideal weather in Zihuatanejo. A nice breeze from the northwest picked up towards the evening, but even though it felt refreshing, it also contained smoke. El Cerro Viejo disappeared completely under either smoke or a cloud. Couldn't see it at all a little while ago.

The tourism accompanying the fishing tournament is keeping downtown Zihuatanejo fairly crowded and busy. Some bus tourists also showed up and enjoyed the day at Las Gatas. While they don't spend a lot, every little bit helps. This Sunday is the grand finale at the pier. Come join in the celebration. Things should start hopping around 3PM or so.

Oh, and Feliz Cinco de Mayo, though we don't really celebrate it here.
