I hope everyone spoiled their mom today, and I hope all the moms enjoyed their day. Busloads of visitors began arriving early for what has turned into a long weekend. Next Wednesday is also a holiday of sorts, Día del Maestro, and chisme has it that there might not be classes until the Monday after that, which of course has many parents concerned that (a) their children are missing too much school, and (b) they'll be unable to go to work since they can't leave their children alone at home. Such are the official and unofficial holidays in Mexico.

The downtown beach was full all day of people swimming, sunbathing and enjoying themselves. Lots of people were out this evening with their wives and mothers. But the restaurants aren't as full as I'd thought they would be.

The mar de fondo is expected to pick back up this Saturday after having tapered off a bit this Friday.

No good reason for the power outage that many communities in our region suffered yesterday other than high usage. If that's true then we're in for a real eye-opening hot summer rainy season. We need to have a building moratorium until we get our house in order, but of course no cement-owning politician is going to promote anything that would hurt their own business. Stock up on emergency goods!

We hope to see you at Deborah's Restaurant on July 1st for the Big Event. Tell your friends! Read about it here: PROJECT EQUATOR

[image]A place I really like to recommend, like an oasis in paradise, is Casa Tucanes. A beautiful vacation lodging located on the edge of La Ropa's coconut grove surrounded by lush gardens, a short walking distance to the beach. They offer three 1- and 2-bedroom villas, two 2-bedroom bungalows and two simple guest rooms. They also have a pool, they are pet friendly and wonderful hosts.

Aunque sigan las olas por el evento de mar de fondo, dentro de la bahía de Zihuatanejo no son tan grandes. El agua sigue fresquecita y clarita.
