There was a callejoneada for some visitors who are having a wing-ding at the museum this Friday evening, and the dancers and the musicians accompanying them were wonderful... until they reached Plaza del Artista where the usual Friday gathering of elderly dancers were enjoying themselves dancing to their traditional música de son, and one of the bands accompanying the callejoneada struck up a chili frito song drowning out the music of the elderly dancers instead of allowing the visiting doctors to appreciate some real local culture, not the Disneylandish kind put on for tourists. I thought it was extremely rude. Bummer. But the callejoneada quickly passed and the dancers and their admirers are once again all smiles and enjoying themselves.

The water continues cold! Only reaching about 25.5°C today, but our visitors didn't seem to notice. Folks were swimming all day long under a cloudless sky.

Quite a few visitors turned up this Friday. There were crowds arriving from where their their buses let them off at Plaza Kioto dragging their suitcases and coolers first thing this morning along the streets and walkways. I alway love watching them catch their first glimpse of the beach and the bay.
