Hey zihua people! We were wondering why nobody was swimming this morning, all of the beaches are full of jellyfish . You’ll see them brown in colour and about an inch and a half long. Not terribly painful but not nice either. So my question is are there any decent sized hotel pools where we can get a day pass (we’re in Madera but don’t mind a taxi ride) many thanks in advance! Phil and Janet

The Thompson has day passes and a 25 meter pool.

Sounds good thanks for that . Wonder if Barra de Potosí /Ixtapa has jellies too, or maybe they’ve just swept into the bay? Only one way to find out I suppose. Unless anyone’s been swimming there?

The brown jellyfish have been in the bay for a couple of weeks, we call this kind Steve. Not real thick, and we haven't been stung. Didn't swim this morning, we had to buy an alternator. Probably/hopefully manana.

Swam this morning, Friday. When paddling saw 5 Steves out in the bay, but when we swam, nothing.

Water is clear, warm, perfect.

This time of year, the only other swimmers besides us are a group on Saturday mornings, and a single male local that we see about every 10 days. During international tourist season there are loads of people swimming.

Haven't seen any malaguas at all on Playa Principal. Water is warm and crystal clear, and people have been swimming and enjoying themselves since first light. Same as yesterday.

Good to know, thanks guys! Today we played safe and swam at Ixtapa. We don’t normally swim on playa principal looking good tho! As for the jellies not pleasant but they don’t bother me too much, however my wife has had an awful reaction to their stings.
