Maybe Zihuatanajo has different Blue Flag rules.

"No music at the beach" is the rule here. Blue Flag rules are the antithesis of what Zihuatanejo has always been. Zihuatanejo pretending to be something we're not is going exactly as I predicted it would over 2 decades ago. Blue Flag isn't about ecology or sustainability, it's simply typical snooty European guidelines for selling travel packages, and in our case, an excuse to pay political favors. If we cared about the healthy ecology of our beaches we'd instead follow the guidelines for Playa Platino and let people enjoy beaches again.
