¡Bienvenidos al verano!

After a night of excellent sleeping weather with some intermittent light rains, in downtown Zihuatanejo we awoke to the lightest of rains, almost a mist, not enough to really get wet, a barely detectable drizzle that felt invigorating and refreshing, enough to dampen the sand. On and off throughout the day this Thursday the rain returned, but only in varying degrees of a drizzle. In the sierra and along the coast the arroyos and ríos are showing signs of life as rainwater begins to flow down from the mountains. In a couple of weeks our hillsides should turn green from the rains we're receiving. We expect some heavier rains this Friday.

With the arrival of summer solstice, the sun will soon begin moving back towards the south along our horizon, eventually illuminating the southern walls of our homes instead of our northern walls as it currently does. Enjoy the long days of summer while they last!
