Around 2:30 this morning I woke up to open the window in our bedroom after the rain had mostly stopped, and saw a man in dark clothing clutching a huge knife crawling across the roof of our neighbor's restaurant towards my window. He heard me call the police, who arrived in about 5 minutes, but it still gave him time to get away. Frankly, I was more worried about him cutting my screen than anything else. I have plenty of protection, but if I hurt a thief then there'd be blood all over the place and I'd have to waste time with police reports. Be aware that this is the time of year when there are the most robberies, so be vigilant.

Saturday was another absolutely picture-postcard-perfect day. The sun came out and so did the tourists. I don't think anyone should be swimming in the bay the day after a hard rain, but until the local government takes the health of people more seriously there's not much I can do.

Looks like we might get some more rain. We can use it!

Gotta cut it short. Mexico's playing Jamaica! :flagmexico: :flagjamaica:

That is a beautiful picture and sorry to hear about your potential thief. Maybe a bit of paperwork is worth dealing with a sh$stain. Just saying.;-)

Have you ever cut someone really bad? Besides the blood, police reports, etc. It is not a pleasant experience no matter how much they might deserve it.

Wow! Sounds like that situation could very easily have turned deadly. I'm glad you're okay.
Beautiful image of a rare cloudy, misty morning.

The motion detector light sensor sounds like an excellent idea. I would have been a mess had the situation you described happened to me.

Misty evening. "Anochecer". ;-)

It could've turned deadly for him. He was on all fours when he heard my voice, and he had to balance himself not to fall through the fragile roof of the restaurant.

We have our multi story home set up so that when we head out to the beach stupid early to avoid the regulations, everything is lit up. Considering it's a three story house, and a garage, it took some doing, but we are SO happy we did it!!!

We also have three large dogs, but the lights are the best! Not necessarily for security but for safety.
