¡Feliz Día Internacional del Reggae!
Fire up and tramp!

I wouldn't exactly call it a stormy Monday, but beginning late this Monday afternoon we had a brief good hard rain followed by hours of light rain lasting well into the night. Just what we needed. However, thanks to the formation of a tropical disturbance off our coast that currently has a 40% chance of development within the next 7 days together with the expected impact of Huracán Beryl on Mexico's east coast, we can expect rains to continue for at least a couple of more days if not throughout the week and into the weekend. Let's hope we don't see any torrential downpours.

If the city government cares about the health of residents and visitors, it will place signs on all our beaches warning bathers of unsafe levels of enterococcus in the water due to the rains. However, I have no confidence they will do the right thing because appearances are all that seem to count with them, and it wouldn't look good in the media. I hope they prove me wrong.

You could feel the humidity and smell the approaching rain yesterday morning, then about 2 pm it was a nice sprinkle of large drops, then heavy rain which led to consistent showers for a good 3 hours. Amazing to hear and see the birds just before and after the storm passed. Today does not feel as sticky and I sense some light rain tonight.
