¡Vivan las TradiZIHones!

Hardly a tourist around today, at least in our part of town. However, summer vacation season begins next week when schools across Mexico officially let out for the summer until August 26. Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a bust. However, I believe the hurricanes that hit Acapulco and now Cancún and Cozumel could be beneficial for us. But I've seen no advertising anywhere. Our municipal tourist office says they have posters in several airports (¿?) and billboards on highways in some northern states. I wouldn't expect those to generate any positive results for us.

Even though we all work pretty much every day, Sunday is still a day when we rest a bit more. The day started off with fresh bolillos rellenos from the mercado, a longtime local tradition, and one of my favorites. The days always seem better when we have bolillos or fresh tamales for breakfast. And days like today still make me feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.
