Zihuatanejo got another nice overnight rain. It arrived with a lot of wind and a heavy downpour, but I'm unaware of any serious flooding. We also had some strong winds this Thursday during the early afternoon with a little more rain, most of it missing downtown Zihuatanejo.

I watched as a family of tourists arrived and walked down to the water's edge. The father and son decided to swim even though it was raining, while the mother and daughter stood under an umbrella on the beach watching. The scene was very touching, a reminder how much some of our visitors appreciate visiting the ocean, so much that even a little rain didn't ruin their day.

According to the Mexican Navy, more rain, gusting winds and large waves are possible tonight and Friday, though these conditions should begin gradually subsiding during this Friday. Another tropical wave is expected to pass by this weekend that could bring more heavy showers, gusting winds and high seas, so stay alert.

ApreZIHación al Mar

No wind or heavy rain on la Ropa, wish we had.

The ocean was super flat and quite clear this morning for paddling, but after the rain, obviously we didn't swim. Way less than the usual amount of little trash that was on the beach. Nice.

Bet tomorrow is a gorgeous paddle day too, but no swim, too close to after rain!
