Even with Zihuatanejo's streets and waterfront all repaved, brightly lit and spruced up and with beaches certified Blue Flag, we still don't seem to be attracting tourists who bring much money to spend on their vacation. Mr. Mayor, the painted cement and colored lights trick isn't working.

Just a reminder folks that when you see a cocodrilo swimming in the water, please respect its space and don't stand between it and the estuary it's trying to reach where it lives like some foolish people did early this morning at La Ropa where they gawked and complained and stood with cellphone in hand blocking the croc from leaving the water. And please don't call local authorities because they really haven't a clue what they're doing, but they'll pretend they do, which is usually bad for the cocodrilo and possibly for other people, too. Some guy even had the nerve to complain that the beach was supposed to be certified, like that meant it should be devoid of any non-human life.

While I haven't noticed hardly any mosquitoes, there's talk going around about dengue. So remember to keep screen doors closed if you have them or to use mosquito control measures so that they don't bite you. Since it hasn't rained much this past week, there shouldn't be many mosquitoes, but they're usually found around gardens, in case you have or live near one.
