A lot of people showed up this weekend, but it seemed they forgot their spending money. Just enough to eat and drink at the beach, then off they go. Mostly locals and a smattering of visitors including some foreigners patronize the same waterfront restaurants while most of our restaurants sit empty and our businesses sit without sales. Something's gotta give. We used to enjoy a higher level of prosperity when we were fewer and had some good people promoting Zihuatanejo more carefully instead of leaving it to travel agents from other places who don't appear to be doing us many favors (nothing against travel agents).

There was some good music at the Cancha Municipal this Sunday evening. A gentleman crooning some favorite Mexican tunes from the 60's. Cheek-to-cheek dancing stuff for us romantic types. ¡Qué cursi!

Rainstorms are in the area, for much of the day the sky was full of beautiful storm clouds everywhere except over the Bahía de Zihuatanejo. This is what happens when you cut down too many trees and pour too much cement.

Our absolutely picture-postcard-perfect weather continues. What a wonderful time of the year to be here. The bay is calm and clear, the hills a deep verdant green, and the deep blue sky is painted dramatically with thunderheads and puffy clouds. Weather that makes you sigh and say ¡VIVA LA VIDA!.
