Onda tropical #20 is passing Zihuatanejo at the moment generating quite a bit of storm clouds. It's been thundering and lightning for the past hour this Monday evening, but it's barely begun to sprinkle here in downtown Zihuatanejo. A lovely rainbow formed up over the eastern part of the bay just before the sun disappeared. There's a light breeze and the temp has fallen to around 29°C and the rain is just starting to pick up. Oops, no, there it went. Oh, well. Didn't last long at all.

Another day with so few tourists that a lot of shops and restaurants didn't even bother to open. Belt-tightening season for too many locals. A lot of people get laid off at this time of the year, and we generally see an uptick in local crime such as burglaries and hold-ups. But locals also enjoy the opportunity to go out and spend time with friends. We're in work mode for so many months out of the year that we miss our friends and our social life, so now is when we have time to get caught up with old friends.

We enjoyed delicious tuna steaks for la comida today from Las Tías restaurant. There's nothing like a fresh-caught tuna! Washed it down with delicious agua de pepino. Good 'n' good for ya!

Un pescador anda a toda velocidad en su panga para orillarla en la parte alta de Playa Principal en la bahía de Zihuatanejo donde le espera su esposa y un asistente.

A friend that joined me this past February for her first visit is returning with her husband in December. She fell in love with Zihuatanejo same as I did back in 2005.
