Hurricane-force winds in Zihuatanejo
Take precautions. This is a very strong wind and rain event occurring this afternoon. The rain is coming down almost sideways, and the wind is the strongest we've had since Huracán Rick.

Our weather station puts the max wind speed in the last few hours at 25 MPH. For perspective, the maximum wind speed we had here on la Ropa near the dolphins during Fuc ing Rick was 48 MPH. Hard winds for here!!!
It is also pouring rain!!!

You're somewhat protected by the hills behind la huerta de La Ropa and Cerro del Vigía where you are. The wind was coming straight at Playa Principal from across the bay creating white caps on our side of the bay. No damage to our home or any nearby trees, but we had to bring our roof chairs and some buckets inside to keep them from blowing away. The lamina roof held up. That was my big concern.

Yep - we heard all the stuff on the neighbors' roofs blowing around! Cat was hiding.

You should've seen me struggling to open our rooftop screen door from outside while carrying stuff inside. I couldn't believe the force that was necessary. The wind was quite fierce for a while there
