Freedom Mobile in Canada has a good deal on US-Mexico-Can phone plans. Currently we just swap in our Telcel Sim and the coverage is great. From what I gather they have agreements with MovieStar and At&T Mexico.
1) has anyone used Freedom Mobile in Zihuatanejo?
2) has anyone use MovieStar or At&t Mexico?
If so, how good was your coverage.

My Verizon jet pack roams on movistar in Zihua area mostly with 3 G coverage it s adequate not great

I had a Mexican AT&T plan which was something like $140 a year and if you paid up front, two years. That was with data and calls to Canada and the US. It also worked in the US. It worked very well, but then AT&T went with $40 per month with a US phone number that works in Canada, US and Mexico. Not as cheap, but most of my time is in the US or in Mexico where people can call me from the US or Canada with a US number.

God Bless You, Sir! I resisted the urge until 2016 when the administrator of a fast-moving project I was intimately involved with demanded, "Didn't you see the email I sent?"
I said, "Well, I haven't gotten back to my computer yet to check my email."
She said, "But didn't you get it on your phone?"
I then showed her my ancient flip phone and she said, "Oh, I see," with a less-than-admiring look.
The next day, I ordered a Google smart phone with Google Fi. Oh, well. It is quite the handy tool. Let's me make free phone calls all over the world via WiFi and works great in Mexico. Great for solitaire, too, the real reason computers were invented.

My friend Jesus in Zihuatanejo uses a cel phone. So does his mother Maria and his father Jose.
(OK, technically Jose is his step-father.
