Banks in Ixtapa

Just wondering what your favourite bank in Ixtapa is for ATM withdrawals. TIA for your suggestions.

You might want to say what bank your money is in. It might be that different bank ATMs give preferential experiences based on the Mexican bank’s relationships with foreign banks.

For example, I have a Canadian Tangerine Bank account and a Wise account. My Tangerine account gets zero-fee ATM withdrawals from ScotiaBank in Mexico. If I used a different Canadian bank, I might choose a different Mexican bank for withdrawals.

They pretty much all give the same exchange rate, the difference is in the usage fee. Ask your home bank if they have any other banks that provide free ATM use. Otherwise, just take out the maximum allowed per transaction and pay the not very high fee. As an example, INBURSA charges 24 pesos per transaction up to 7,000 pesos. Cheap.

Don't forget about Schwab Bank which reimburses you any ATM fees incurred worldwide. At first, I didn't believe it when it was reported here but it's true. As Talley Ho pointed out, Inbursa has the lowest ATM withdraw fees in town.

Usually no lines, and Schwab refunds their fees too!!!
