Extrañando la PreZIHpitación
Friday saw a return of the heat and humidity, the kind that sucks the energy out of you the longer you're out walking or working outdoors. If only it would rain and bring the temperature down. Rain is in the forecast for Saturday and the next few days, but there's no guarantee. The rainy season usually ends similarly to how it starts, with this hot and humid weather and forecasts that tease us with rain that doesn't show up. Keeping fingers crossed.
This Saturday at Playa Linda there's going to be a women's surfing competition. El Torneo de Surf Femenil "Zanca Girl" starting at 7:30 A.M. There will be categories for long board, short board and body board. Come and check out the local talent. This should be a lot of fun!
A few more tourists showed up, both national and international visitors. Playa Principal still had a large number of people enjoying the beach and the water as the sun was going down. Restaurant business along the downtown waterfront was a little better this Friday night than the previous night. Some lodging operators are nervous that maybe U.S. citizens are afraid to come.
Whales are returning, so now is a good time to book a charter with my friend Abel Cortéz and his friends at Zihuatanejo Ixtapa Charters or my friend Ramón Olea of the panga "Oleaje".
A huge laúd turtle nest was found the other day at Playa Blanca and its eggs recovered to be incubated in a safe place at the Campamento Tortuguero Ayotlcalli.
